Music Ministry
What We Do
We are called to honor God with everything that we have. When Christ takes hold of our lives we come to realize that we have nothing and that everything is his. So, we must seek to honor God by releasing all control of our ministry and leave all the results to Him. Our responsibility as musicians is to be accountable to the word of God first, under the authority of our pastor and elders second, and always understand our direct obligation to our church family: to point them to the joy that can only be complete in Christ.
How We Do It
The method of how we do music at New Life will never be set in stone. The method of how we do ministry will never change. Any time you gather a broad people group together their will be differences of tastes, preferences, and desires. We have the challenge of not watering down our choruses to be accessible for new believers, but at the same time trying not to over-complicate our hymns just to cater to the older believers. We have the challenge of being attractional with our music and method, but not losing the missional and biblical aspects of our music and method. When it comes down to it, none of us has all the right answers. But if we stay true to what we do, and don't forget that we're doing it together in community, than the how will work itself out in the end.
