The word "tithe" literally means "a tenth." We return to the Lord 10% of what He's given us, because it belongs to Him. In Malachi 3:10-11, God says, "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse that there may be food in my house." The 'storehouse' is the Old Testament picture of the New Testament church. So as New Testament believers, we worship the Lord with the tithe; or the ten percent.
But giving away 10% of your income can be a big -- and often frightening -- commitment! That's why we created the Three-Month Tithing Challenge: a money-back guarantee of sorts. Essentially, it's a contract based on the promises of God in Malachi 3:10-11. We commit to you that if you tithe for three months and God doesn't hold true to His promises of blessings, we will refund 100% of your tithe (less credit/debit card fees if applicable). No questions asked.
To participate, read the following agreement, sign and date this form, and return it to the New Life Bible Church in the attached envelope marked “Church Bookkeeper.”
I understand this form must be completed and received by New Life Bible Church Bookkeeper prior to the beginning of the 3 Month Tithe Challenge Period. Therefore, the start date must be today's date or a future date.*
I understand “tithe” means one-tenth, so my household is only eligible for this challenge by contributing 10% of my/our household income.
I understand my household qualifies for participation because I/we have not been tithing for the last six months.
I understand I cannot seek a refund prior to the end of the Three-Month Tithing Challenge Period, and I cannot seek a refund for any contributions made prior to the beginning of the Three-Month Tithing Challenge Period.
I understand any request for refund must be received by the Finance Team within 30 days of the end of the Three-Month Tithing Challenge Period.
I understand that my tithe must be paid by check, online or automatic bank draft, and that my contributions must be clearly designated “Tithe Challenge” so that my tithe can be properly credited.
I understand New Life Bible Church wishes to respect the privacy of everyone who contributes financially to the church. As such, only the Bookkeeper of New Life Bible Church will see this document, and that no other person (paid or volunteer) associated with the church know of my participation in this challenge. Likewise, only the Bookkeeper of
New Life Bible Church will be aware of financial contributions made by my household, and no other person (paid or volunteer) associated with the church will ever see my household’s giving records.
